We felt like we were back in Italy or South France when we arrived at this winery. It is really a hidden gem!
There is a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the vineyards for tasting. The place also offers more than the typical cheese and crackers to go with your tasting. The on-site Sweet N’ Savory food truck serves gourmet appetizers, sandwiches, and salads if you are in the mood for a full meal.
Interesting site but we find the all-stone house quite ugly.
Chester is a small but charming town. Good restaurant scene.
Solid Italian restaurant.
Simple and clean room … has a bit of that country charm
We saw a lot of self-servicing egg stands when we drove around the country side of this area … couldn’t help buying a dozen (for $4). We couldn’t tell if they tasted better than the ones from supermarket 😜.
The host was telling us that we should throw out any frog in the pool when we swim. We thought she was just joking but then came the frog 🐸 in the pool 😂
East Haddam seems like a town frozen in time. This opera house has a lot of history. Wish we had time to catch a performance there!
This is a rescue animal farm rather than a for-profit farm. The entrance is free but there are special experiences you can pay for to help with the cause. We did the Guinea Pig Cuddles which we enjoyed.
Cute cat-themed sandwich shop. Very whimsical decor.
The best public beach we have been on the CT coast … the sand is soft and fine (not one of those pebble beaches) and the water is very calm.
A great variety of good-quality Japanese dishes at very reasonable prices.
